Serena Williams, Bumble, Phyllis Newhouse invest in AI to help female business owners

Alice is a free AI platform that supports the launch and growth of early-stage companies, particularly for founders who are women of color.


The amounts of funding were not disclosed. Elizabeth Gore, president and chairwoman of Alice, would only say that the investment was somewhere in the millions. Williams and Bumble's founder and CEO, Whitney Wolfe Herd, will become part owners of Alice and be responsible for helping to make Alice's business growth tools accessible to more underrepresented business owners.


Other series A investors are SVB Financial Group, Cathie Reid, Jean Case, Phyllis Newhouse, Shatter Fund and Signia Venture Partners.
